Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Poulsbo (AESC)

Poisons and Toxins

In 1993, Drs. Burgess and Zimmers worked together to create the first after-hours emergency animal hospital which serves Kitsap Peninsula and surrounding areas. The following links to websites and telephone numbers provide great information on topics related to veterinary medicine and pet health care. These are all reputable sites, but it is always wise to read and assess. Contact us if there is any questionable material, a link that does not work, or you want to suggest a good website to add.

ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center

888-426-4435 | www.aspca.org

This is the website of the ASPCA Animal Poison Control. It includes a library, links to other sites, and phone numbers for the poison control center. As the premier animal poison control center in North America, the APCC is your best source for any animal poison–related emergency 24/7. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, make a call that can make the difference. A fee will apply but you may avoid a trip into AETC. If you do need to visit us after the call, your fee will give us a case number and the ability to consult with top notch veterinary toxicologists for case management. Please call before you come in unless your pet is showing clinical signs of poisoning. In that case, we can call after you get here.
